Rainbow Pre-School is a community pre-school situated within the grounds of Great and Little Shelford (C of E) Primary school in Great Shelford, Cambridge.

 

We welcome children aged from 2 to 4 years old into our safe, caring and fun environment where we promote learning through play. An excerpt from the OFSTED report, May 2014 states: “…A rich learning environment both indoors and outdoors, creates exciting opportunities for all children. This means that children are keen, enthusiastic, active learners. Their confidence levels are high, they give of their best and all make good progress…”

 

We are looking for an experienced Practitioner/Key Worker who is enthusiastic, has high standards and passion for children development. In this position you will work closely with colleagues to provide a safe and simulating environment for all children attending Rainbow. You will also be a keyworker for individual children where their abilities and progress will be monitored and recorded.

 

Person specification

 

Essential criteria:

·       NVQ level II or equivalent

·       Previous experience of working with young children and having a sound knowledge of child development for children from birth to five years

·       Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and to support team in planning, implementing and observing activities

·       Sound knowledge of child protection procedures

·       Commitment to work as part of a team and be confident to take initiatives

·       Ability to communicate effectively with children and parents
